The Shaman was my best selling snowkite, and for good reason. Excellent pricepoint, wildly versatile, great to learn on and yet a no-compromise backcountry and expedition-worthy machine - these are simply great kites. If one of your main interests is backcountry touring and exploring, a single skin is going to be hard to beat. Not only are they super light to begin with, they also generate more power per size than a normal kite, so your pack size and pack weight is almost nothing. I've had multiple people order these as their primary kites for Greenland expeditions
Back country is not the only thing they are good for. Because they are incredibly stable and depower really well, they make excellent 1st kites. And because there is no bottom skin, there is no risk of rupturing the kite if you crash it while you are learning. Score! Last but not least, just like the Peak 4, many folks have found that they love to use these for foilboarding (although the Marabou is better for this).
Top that all off with the fact that they are incredibly affordable, and its hard not to get excited about these kites. I really think these are going to blow open all sorts of new possibilities here in Colorado.
